Walking!

Yes, we know it's been a while since we've updated Rocco's blog...a testament to how busy life has been as Rocky is growing and gaining more mobility. While visiting "Papa" and "Mama", as Rocco likes to call grandpa Jim and grandma Jo, in Pittsburgh over July 4th weekend, he decided that crawling was for babies and it was time to walk! He's been much more vocal and more able to tell us what's on his mind using his ever growing vocabulary. He's spent some time at the beach and loves the water; he has no fear of walking into the crashing waves as they slosh up against him. Not sure if that's good or bad just yet.
So many people told us that each stage of his growing will be more and more fun and we definitely agree...

9 Months

I swear every month gets better and better. This month Rocco started pulling himself up to a standing position. He's still too nervous to stand without holding onto something or actually take a step. We hope he takes his time with walking. We can barely keep up with his crawling. He has learned to clap, give hi-5 and say da-da-da-da-da, which of course his father doesn't mind hearing at all. He eats pretty much whatever we're eating. He especially likes feeding himself. Funny enough, he seems to love Italian food - garlic bread, eggplant parm, pasta. His Mema would be proud.

8 Months and Crawling!

So it's true what everyone says...it goes fast! Rocco is already 8 months old and he has now mastered crawling! He loves to be in the same room as us too. So if we happen to step out, within seconds he has crawled over to wherever we are. It's really sweet. He has also mastered cruising around in his walker he got from Grandma Jo. My grandma Hofius was right, if I knew babies were this much fun I would have done it sooner.

Rocco in Mexico - 7 Months Old

This past November we had the privilege of taking a vacation in Mexico with the Petrocelli side of the family. It was almost 2 weeks of nothing but the pool and beach. It was great! Rocco got to experience the water for the first time and he loved it! Attached are some pictures from the vacation.

6 Months

Rocco turns 6 months old today! We thought we'd let him try some food so we opted for some yummy steamed carrots...he hated it! It was hysterical! I guess we'll keep trying so he can get used to the idea of food. He's now almost sitting up without falling over and working on crawling. He's mastered rolling over. And over and over. Who knew this would be so much fun?! :)

Mini Monkey Man- 5 months old!

Every day brings something new as Rocco hits the 5 month mark. He's found his little voice and loves to sing and coo all day. He's having fun rolling all over the place and chewing on anything he can get his little hands on. We recently spent the day strolling around Central Park and he seemed entranced by all the sounds of random street musicians and interesting people to look at. And we mean interesting. (We were in NYC!) He even seemed to enjoy stopping at a pub for a refreshing pause, just like papa...
Rocco's latest trick is sticking his tongue out all the time. Hysterical! We're enjoying having this little guy around so much.
